Different materials place varying demands on the design of the mixer and its motion. The correct mixing motion improves work efficiency and enhances the quality of the mix. For example, heavy materials quickly settle at the bottom of the mixing tub and require a mixing paddle or mortar whisk that lifts the material, while lighter materials tend to stay on the surface and need a mixer that presses the material downward.
